Strawberry Shortcake

I loved this doll. It was just about the only thing I owned at a sad point in my life. My aunt gave it to me when she dropped me off in foster care when I was 7. My baby sister had just died. If you squeezed her belly, Strawberry Shortcake's breath came out in a sweet strawberry smelling puff of air.  This isn't the actual doll, I got this picture from Ebay.

Emmers wanted some special ivitations for her birthday,  but they wouldn't get to us in time to mail if I did my usual protocol of ordering them from Etsy.  So I decided to try my hand at making them.  How easy, too!  It cost about the same as I would have paid (without the shipping) to get them printed up at Kinkos, but hardly any time at all.  And Emmers loves them!  (Of course I changed her name to "girl' and blacked out location info-the real ones didn't look like this but they DID have the mustache!)

New Couch

We need a bigger couch.  Seriously.  Ours is on it's last legs.  I want to figure out if there's one out there that is under $1,500 and big and comfy.  Here are some ideas so far:
